The Client
Since 2008, Spotlight Recruitment have forged successful relationships with many global publishing clients, ranging from academic and educational publishers to consumer and financial publishing groups. We have a particularly special, trusted relationship with one client, and we have consistently recruited on their behalf for several years as part of their PSL. For this particular client, we have recruited marketers across all levels, from Marketing Assistants, CRM Marketing Managers, Content Specialists, Research Editors, Associate Editors to Senior Marketing Managers.
The Challenge
Most recently, the team asked us to source an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to join their growing team. The ideal candidate would be a creative, research-minded individual looking to develop their marketing career. The key criteria were that the candidates had experience in delivering digital and email campaigns, line management and stakeholder management experience, and the ability to confidently handle data and analysis. Assured by our past success with this particular client and in-depth knowledge of their culture and requirements, we made a swift start. Spotlight Recruitment’s process involves allocating a dedicated Account Manager who conducts rigorous research and executive search and devises a tailored campaign to deliver well-matched candidates.
After the Spotlight team had performed a thorough interviewing and shortlisting process to ensure candidates were a great fit, a selection of highly relevant candidates (most of whom were from academic publishing) was delivered to our client. To our delight, the client chose a large selection of our candidates to interview.
The Solution
This particular process involved two online interviews, with the final being a face-to-face interview involving a task to present to the panel. After a successful round of first and second-stage interviews, two stand-out candidates were ultimately invited for a final interview. After this stage, our client made a difficult decision between both candidates, and ultimately decided to offer the role to the candidate who was deemed a natural fit within the company and had some prior experience in the publishing industry. Our focus is always on ensuring a transparent line of communication with candidates and working closely with clients to ensure exceptional results are achieved. After yet another speedy and efficient process, we were happy to successfully recruited on behalf of our client and continue our long-term partnership.
