The Client
Since 2008, the Spotlight Recruitment team have recruited a large number of marketing, digital, design, and communications professionals for care home and later living organisations. Our expertise spans areas including nursing homes, care homes, later living support, and healthcare. We were recently approached by a global later living start-up, backed by a well-recognised investor. This client was looking to hire a Marketing Director to take the lead with their UK marketing operations and grow the marketing team.
The Challenge
Our client was looking to recruit an experienced Marketing Director who had strong experience defining marketing strategy, whilst being a hands-on member of the team, and building and leading their own marketing team. Ideally, the chosen candidate would also have previous experience within the property sector or similar. Above all, this individual would be exceptionally strong in communication and diplomacy to ensure smooth running of marketing operations, whilst valuing input and ideas from colleagues. Assured by our plentiful experience of senior appointments, the Spotlight Team commenced our search for high-quality candidates.
Firstly, the dedicated Account Manager carried out thorough research to gain key insights that influence our bespoke campaign strategy which is tailored directly to the needs of each client. Our team of Consultants are all ex-marketers, and we are able to understand the bespoke needs of different clients and the niche skill requirements for marketing roles. Once this stage was complete and suitable candidates had been selected, we carried out our own interviews and screenings to assess further suitability for the role based on their previous experience. After this, the strongest candidates were shortlisted further to present to the client for their approval.
The Solution
From the first round of candidates produced to this client, the majority were invited to a first stage video interview, with the goal of assessing culture fit within the business. The second stage involved an in-person interview with a task to present, and two candidates were put forward for this. After a successful interview process, our client made the tough decision to offer the Marketing Director role to one candidate who had extremely relevant experience and seemed like a natural fit within the organisation. We were delighted to have helped fill this senior position within a matter of a few short weeks, as well as building a strong relationship with this client. Since this placement, we have recruited on their behalf for many marketing roles of all levels, and look forward to working with them again in the future.
