Since Spotlight Recruitment began in 2008, we have had the opportunity to work with many ambitious clients both within the design sector, and those recruiting Designers across graphics, UX, Experiential and digital. We were recently approached by one of our long-standing clients, an innovative agency specialising in experiential design and bespoke experiences. Due to continued company-wide growth, they were looking to hire a creative Senior Designer to join their growing design team.
The Challenge
Our client briefed our team that they were looking to hire a Senior Designer with around four-to-five years of design experience as well as motion graphics and editing skills. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and a great visual communicator. Having worked with this client for many years, helping them to recruit many marketing and design professionals, we were confident that this process would also be a success. Our team got to work, starting with the allocation of a dedicated Account Manager with expertise in design recruitment, who constructed a bespoke recruitment campaign and strategy according to our client’s requirements. After this, we commenced a thorough executive search, as well as our own interviewing and shortlisting stage, to source the ideal candidates to present to our client.
After reviewing the first round of highly relevant candidates, the client selected three people to invite for a first stage competency-based interview with the hiring manager via video call.
The Solution
In a very quick turnaround, one standout candidate from the first round of interviews was invited to a second interview in their offices, with a design task to prepare prior. As a result, this exceptional candidate was offered the role of Senior Designer, with our client reporting that they were a natural cultural fit within the team. The Spotlight Recruitment team were pleased to have concluded yet another speedy and efficient process for this client, going from briefing to placement in just under four short weeks. Since this successful process, we are delighted to continue to recruit on their behalf for a variety of roles within the organization, across events and design.
