The Client
Spotlight Recruitment has worked with an expansive list of clients across the education sector over our history, including working within EdTech, Higher Education and Educational Membership Bodies. We have built a long and established relationship with one particular client that operates in over 70 countries and have supported their hiring for multiple Marketing roles over several years.
In 2022 we were asked to help them expand their marketing team, and support recruitment for a Portfolio Marketing Manager, Senior Marketing Automation Executive and Performance Marketing Executive. These are all key roles and the focus was on pace as the teams wanted the roles filled quickly with standout candidates.
The Challenge
Although our client has a capable internal recruitment team, they often need additional support to find candidates with both marketing expertise and marketing experience within the education sector. Our team are all Ex-Marketers and given our expansive marketing network, we started the process to fill all of the roles. Our client was searching for strategic senior marketing candidates with a wealth of experience covering areas including stakeholder management and campaign management.
As always, the team at Spotlight Recruitment allocated a dedicated Account Manager to our client, devised a tailored recruitment campaign and strategy according to our client’s requirements, and conducted an extensive executive search to source the perfect candidates for these three roles. We began by conducting our own interviewing and shortlisting stage, resulting in the first round of excellent candidates being sent across promptly. For this client, the interview process involved a competency-based interview, followed by a second-stage presentation.
The Solution
For each of the three roles we recruited for, at least one candidate was put forward to the final interview with a presentation of a marketing plan to senior members of the team. Feedback from both candidates and the client was extremely positive, which we communicated to both sides. Once the ball was in our client’s court, they deliberated together and decided to offer all three roles to three of our stellar candidates! The whole team at Spotlight Recruitment were beyond pleased to turn a frustrating internal recruitment process into an efficient and seamless one for our valued client – we have an enriched, ongoing relationship and we look forward to recruiting on their behalf in the future.
