The Client
Through Spotlight Recruitment’s extensive history, we have had the opportunity to recruit on behalf of many clients within the medical products field placing roles across marketing, design, digital, and communications. One of these clients is a global medical products organisation that originated as a family business over 100 years ago and we have been on their PSL for a number of years. We were recently approached by this client to recruit a Brand Manager to join their expanding marketing team, due to a period of considerable business growth.
The Challenge
Our client briefed us that they were looking to hire an experienced Brand Manager to create and monitor the performance of the UK brand marketing strategy. The ideal candidate would have at least three years’ marketing experience, preferably within a medical setting. In addition to this, they were looking for marketers with demonstrable experience of growing brands and identifying growth opportunities for a business. We had previously filled many similar roles for this organisation over the years, including Brand Managers and Junior Brand Managers, so our team were confident that this process would be just as successful. Our team got to work, firstly allocating an Account Manager with expertise hiring within this sector, who then devised a bespoke recruitment campaign which addressed the needs of the client. Following a thorough interviewing and shortlisting process, the Account Manager then presented a selection of highly relevant candidates for the client to review.
The Solution
To our delight, the client was extremely satisfied with the quality of candidates presented, so consequently invited four experienced marketers to interview. For this role in particular, the process involved a first stage video interview, followed by an in-person meeting in their offices to present a campaign task. As a result of some successful first round interviews, two strong candidates were invited to a second and final interview. The client made the difficult decision to offer the role to the candidate who had created a task that effectively met the brief and seemed like the best cultural fit for the team.
