Our client is an exciting new start-up, focussed on researching public opinion around the environment. They study the narratives, messengers and experiences shaping public opinion now, whilst also looking to the future.
They are looking for an experienced, driven Deputy Director, who will help build this new start-up organisation, primarily leading on the communications strategy and media relations, to build their profile and establish trust within the target audience.
Responsibilities include identifying gaps and shaping research ideas which are of particular interest to their key audiences, planning and executing media sell-in strategies for new research, spotting opportunities to present existing research to the media which will raise the profile of the organisation.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of what narratives about policy and public opinion are of interest to journalists and commentators at any given time.
- Demonstrable experience of selling in research to journalists and commentators
- A solid understanding of political parties and the elite audiences and narratives that influence them.
- A basic familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
- A strategic approach, marrying the organisation’s aims and goals to any communication strategy.
- Strong interpersonal skills, determination, and persistence – we will be building something from the ground up!
