On average we spend 99,117 hours of our lives working. Has that just made your stomach turn?
Some love their job, and couldn’t dream of working anywhere else. But if you’re not one of those fortunate few, it could be time for a new job.
Do the following ring true with you?
• ‘I can’t see any sign of career progression or continued development’
• ‘Monday is the same as Tuesday, which is the same as Wed, which is the same . . . ‘
• ‘My work is no longer recognised or rewarded’
Begin your job search. We spend so much of our life at work and it is important you are valued, challenged and enjoy your role.
If it is the right time to consider a new role start a job search, quietly and discreetly. Don’t broadcast the fact that you’re job searching. You don’t want your boss finding out accidentally via Facebook until you’re ready to share the news.
Take the time to create or update your LinkedIn profile. Update your resume and get some glowing references lined up. Build your network by connecting and collaborating with everyone you know on LinkedIn and the other networking sites.
Feel better already after reading this blog? Stomach settled? Go to it!
There is no time like the present.
